New Wash
Shop ARROJO
Shop In Common
Crazy story, I actually don't recommend shampoo or conditioner. I recommend New Wash because it's THE healthiest thing on the market for cleansing your hair. But it's not for everyone because it's a very unique product.
Learn about it by clicking the link!
HOWEVER, if i were to recommend a shampoo/conditioner combo it would be ARROJO Gentle because it's sulfate free and wont strip your hair like regular combos, so it's safe for color treated hair. Or, In Common's Clear Haze Shampoo + Velvet Cloud mask. You can also try an appropriate booster. It's like skincare for the hair!
Hyrdo Mist
7 Seconds
Detangler
Magic Myst
I have tried many leave-in conditioners and I like many of them on the market, but these are ultimately my Top 3. I prefer sprays because they are quick and easy to apply!
Magic Mist and 7 Seconds Detangler both have heat protection built in. Both offer incredible softness. Magic mist is better served for those who wash their hair more often as it can build up a little in the hair. Hydro Mist is best for finer hair types as it's a bit finer mist and lighter weight.
Truthfully, all are worth checking out, no matter your hair type!
Wax
Wave Mist
Texture is kind of a vague term, but I like to exclude curls (giving them their own category) and describe texture as two things:
1. beachy (think long hair)
2. short (think short men's/pixie)
I love Wave Mist on air-dried or lightly sprayed on curled hair for a beachy vibe. It rivals Bumble & Bumble's Surf Spray but without the drying damage!
Hairstory's Wax offers shorter hair types a touchable texture without greasy or stiff vibes like gels or pomades. < Those are SO 10 years ago! Don't do ittttt!
Ever Recovery Oil
Moroccanoil LIGHT
Hair Oil
In addition to leave-in products, dry hair types benefit from either an oil or a serum. Dry hair causes breakage and split ends which is what frizz is. < The broken and split ends are reaching out for moisture. The difference between an oil and a serum is in the ingredients. Don't let the label names confuse you: serums can include oils but most of them contain ingredients like a silicone or glycerine that won't penetrate the hair, they coat the surface. Oils are pure, without the added silicones, and penetrate the hair shaft. Finer hair types > be cautious using oils! I recommend opting for a serum instead.
Hair Type:
Thick/Coarse: Ever Recovery Hair Oil
Medium: Hairstory Hair Oil
Fine: Moroccanoil Treatment LIGHT
New Wash
ReFinish
dry shampoo
For oily hair types, I recommend New Wash! It would replace your shampoo and conditioner completely as a creamy cleanser. In time, once you balance the ecosystem of your scalp (about 4 weeks), your natural oil production will decrease because it's not being stripped by traditional shampooing. I can't promise it'll make it all go away, but if used correctly, it will help decrease the production.
In addition, I recommend using Refinish Dry Shampoo on clean hair. Don't wait until it gets oily, dry shampoos don't work as well that way! I love this one because it isn't white and it brushes through really well for a nice subtle volume which oily types aren't used to! Make sure to shake well before each use! This one also doubles as an incredible texturizer on curled or waved hair!
New Wash
Hair Balm
For curly hair types, I recommend New Wash! It would replace your shampoo and conditioner completely as a creamy cleanser. In time (2-4 weeks), you'll restore proper hydration to your curls and they will end up bouncier and more defined.
In addition, Hair Balm is the only product I've found that leaves your curls touchable and soft while also promoting more definition unlike gels or mouse that leave the hair crispy and hard. < That is SO 10 years ago, please don't do that! Hair balm is great for air-drying and diffusing.
I also recommend checking out the leave-in products for days 2 and 3 between washes to reset your curls!
Volume Foam
Powder
THE most powerful hair lifting duo! When aiming to get more volume in the hair, you can approach it in two different ways (or both together):
1. On wet hair - requires blowdrying
2. On dry hair - great option for air-drying
I love Volume Foam on roots for a nice round-brush type blow dry to lift. You can also use it all over it add thickness throughout your hair!
Once the hair is dried, Powder is a great option that also absorbs oil while giving your lift longevity throughout the day. This one an also be added for more minimal volume on air-dried hair and puffed into the ends on curls or waves for a nice professional finish.
k18
Bond serum
The ULTIMATE damage repair duo. These two products work phenomenally on their own, but when layered together these two restore hair directly down to the core of each individual strand.
K18 Molecular Repair: works deep within the hair strands to repair the broken keratin chains that hair is made of. When using with Bond Serum, you will apply this one first and wait 4 minutes before applying Bond Serum.
Bond Serum: similarly, works deep within the hair strands to repair the bonds which connect the keratin chains together. This product severely rivals Olaplex. < We don't need her! When using Bond Serum on it's own, I recommend cocktailing with a leave-in product as it's primary focus is repair, so some hair types need extra moisture.
Protective
Thickening Lotion
There is only one heat protectant until the end of time (or a better one is created).
ARROJO's Protective Thickening Lotion doesn't leave the hair crispy or greasy like a lot of the others out there. It also adds shine, softness, and has UV protection so your color is safe in the summer months!
Run.
Typology
ShoP Tinted Serum
Shop lip oils
If I've ever taken a pic of your hair and you said, "I didn't wear makeup today!" My reply will always be, "I PREFER A FRESH FACE IN PICS!"
Typology has me in a clean girl aesthetic choke hold. They are super clean, made in France. I 1,000% recommend anything Typology.
Try their foundation, it's really just skincare with a tint!!! I to mix two colors together to get the perfect shade and a TINY drop of the Shimmering Dry Oil for a luminous glow. I also LOVE their tinted lip oils as a blush but I'm also a feen for the clear! And the skincare is DIVINE.
